The Red Maple K9 Board and Train program is expertly designed to provide your dog with top-notch training. Our team focuses on positive and balanced methods to create a customized training plan tailored to your dog's specific needs. With daily training, strolls around nearby parks and fields, and socialization, your dog will learn the fundamentals of healthy social interaction with humans and other canines. Our spacious area allows for a variety of training exercises and activities, ensuring your dog receives a well-rounded training experience.

Our Board and Train program also strives to provide a comfortable space to ensure your pup’s hygiene, nutrition and general well-being are being monitored and watched. Rest assured, your beloved pet is in the most capable hands, receiving care that goes above and beyond.

When it's time to pick up your furry friend, the trainer will dedicate as much time as needed to ensure you feel confident handling your improved dog. All Board and Train Programs come with two - three complimentary private training lessons. We highly suggest scheduling a follow-up session during the initial week after bringing your dog home. This is a vital step to ensure the training's success and enhance your abilities as a pet owner. Our goal is to make sure both you and your dog are in sync, mastering the necessary skills to achieve great results together.

Our board and train program provides that care, along with expert training and support, to help dogs flourish and build strong connections with their owners. Sage: 2 year old Doberman

THEN: Sage's owners were looking for a trainer who could teach their Doberman to walk loosely on leash and develop a reliable stay. Sage was a little timid of the world so the owners wanted someone who knew how to work with nervous dogs.

NOW: All Sage needed was someone to guide her and work on lots of socialization and desensitization with her. After 6 lessons, Sage was more confident outdoors with various distractions, was able to walk loosely on the leash and stopped pulling their owners, and is even able to be left alone in a stay while watching people go by.

Stunna: 2 year old Pocket Bully

THEN: Stunna joined our Behaviour Rehab program. Stunna was known to bite his owners out of fear and he often hid from any sounds the world produced. Stunna was used for breeding and didn't know any basic commands or a life outside the kennel.

NOW: After a 4-month board and train program, Stunna is loving his life and his new found world. His favourite thing to do is play with other dogs, go on off-leash walks with his owners and just sit outside and watch the world go by. Stunna is no longer reacting to unknown sounds, barking at strangers, and biting is owners.

BAITU & ZHAO: 3 and 5 year old Akitas

THEN: Both BaiTu and Zhao grew up with no training. They pulled on the leash, ran up to everything and everyone, and even showed early signs of reactivity/aggression by growling and attempting to lung as dogs walked by.

NOW: BaiTu and Zhao has now developed a SUPER reliable stay and can stay right in the heart of Downtown Toronto! With loud music, people and dogs surrounding them, their only goal is to wait for their handler to come back to get some head scratches/treats. Both boys now walk nicely on the lash and even flew with their owners back to China!

SEAMUS: 1 year old Labradoodle

When Seamus first arrived for boarding with a trainer, his owners warned that he may be overprotective of his sister and would attempt to nip other dogs that tried to play with her. However, we wanted to get to the root of the issue and didn't want to bandaid the issue by isolating Seamus during socialization/play-time. With lots of patience and proper introductions, Seamus now plays in groups with other dogs AND her sister present. Seamus is able to trust that other dogs are not here to harm but just here for a fun time.

REVY: Rescue Terrier Mix (age unknown)

THEN: Revy's owners were at their end's meet with their pup when Revy would not stop going to the washroom in the house, reacting to all dogs and people, and barking up a storm in their condo when someone knocks on the door.

NOW: After attending Red Maple's Behaviour Modification Program, Revy was able to walk loosely on a leash and even go on pack walk with other dogs and people! In the condo, the owners no longer had to look over their back to see if someone was turning around the corner, they could confidently walk Revy anywhere confidently and let him finally be a dog.

Grayson: 6 year old Husky

THEN: Grayson had extreme crate anxiety so going to the vet, groomers, or anywhere that needed him to be in a kennel caused him to self-mutilate and do everything in his power to break out of the crate. Grayson's owners also wanted Grayson to learn his basic obedience and become an off-leash husky.

NOW: Grayson can now walk into the create on his own, eat his meals there and just relax and enjoy some alone time. Outside the create Grayson loves posing for pictures in his amazing stay and playing off-leash with his friends. Grayson is super great pup and simply needed someone who could help him rebuild his foundations and slowly counter condition his beliefs with the create to turn it into something neutral and fun.

Nimbus: 4 month old Doberman

THEN: Nimbus came for a 4-month Puppy Basics board and train program. Nimbus' owners' goals were to ensure Nimbus was crate and house trained, learned his basic obedience/commands and came home fully off-leashed with great recall!

NOW: Nimbus sees his crate as his bedroom and enters and exists without any issues! By week 2, Nimbus knew his basic commands, developed a solid stay command, and could walk on a loose leash. By week 4 his owners loved that they could enjoy off-leash freedom with their fur-baby!

ODYSSEY: 5 year old Cockapoo

Odyssey's owners wanted a boarding place that she could trust and would get photos and updates throughout the day. A requirement was that the trainer would provide her with structured walks and knew how to not let her get away with her tricky dog shenanigans. RMK9 provided just that and the owners were super excited about the cute photos and life updates while they were half-way around the world!

Luca & Lina: Rescue Mal and 4 month old GSD

LUCA: Luca was found tied to a tree and abandoned. His microchip was disconnected and he was scared and anxious all the time. Luca was also a flight risk. RMK9 helped find him a furever home and helped his new owners work on his anxiety, fear, and mistrust in humans. With lots of patience and enragement, Luca can now walk off-leash beside his owners, have a great stay for great progress photos (lol!) and love exploring the world with his little sister.

LINA: Lina came to learn her basic obedience. From running around nonstop and nipping his owners, Lina was a classic GSD. After 4-weeks, Lina was able to join her owners for movies on the couch, wait patiently for her meals, and walk loosely on the leash when going on trails with Luca.

WangZhao: 2 year old Husky

THEN: WangZhao's was known to be a huge resource guarder with his food and treats. He would bite anyone that takes his food and didn't listen to a single command. WangZhao was also still leanring how to play nicely and interact with other dogs without pushing boundaries.

NOW: WangZhao loves playing with his new best friend Kilo. He learned how to properly socialize with other dogs, have reliable stay and recall commands, and most importantly, he no longer guards his food. His owners can now take his food/treats away when needed without fear of him biting. With more structure and boundaries, WangZhao was a quick learner and simply needed someone to understand and show him the ropes.

GIBSON & MAYA: 3 and 6 year old Husky Mixes

Gibson and Maya's owners had tough schedules to balance and with Gibson having special needs and requiring someone who knew how to administer medical attention, it was difficult for their owners to find a place to leave their pups while they were at work. At RMK9, we ensure that all our trainers are qualified and tried in dog medical first aid and most importantly, provide owners with updates of their pups during their stay with photos and videos so they have peace of mind that their dogs are safe, happy and healthy.

TARO & TIGER: Labradoodle & 1 year old Spanish x Tibetan Mastiff

TARO and TIGER are the best brothers from different mothers. They came to brush up and sharpen the skills they learned at private training while their owners went on vacation. The owners wanted to refine their leash manners, place command, and their stay. By the end of the 2 weeks, Taro and Tiger were able to be walked with a loose leash by multiple people, do out of sight stays and waiting for the trainer to return, and was even able to balance on even surfaces to challenge their place command!

ISLA: 8 year old Bernedoodle

Isla's owners dropped Isla off when they went on vacation and didn't expect too much training could be done for an older dog like Isla. However, Isla showed great food-drive and willingness to train! So she took the stage and went from pulling on the leash to get to distractions to having amazing handler focus and could even be trusted without a leash! Isla proved that you're never too old to learn new tricks!

MILO: 2 year old Goldendoodle

THEN: Milo was a COVID dog and grew up super comfortable around the home, great house manners and loved by the family. However, when he went outside, he was afraid of the world, dogs, people, cars, bikes etc... His handler's wanted to bring Milo for training to desensitize his anxiety/fear outdoors.

NOW: Milo is able to go on pack walks, sleep on the same bed another dog, people watch in a stay while a bunch of dogs and people walk around him, and even attended a doggie daycare open house to put him up for the challenge! Milo did INCREDIBLE and just needed someone who could start slow, but believe that a small dog can do big things.
